ABOUT DR. JEANNETTE GRAF, M.D., F.A.A.D.

A leading skin science expert, Dr. Graf is a Board Certified, Clinical and Research Dermatologist.

Known for her extensive and comprehensive approach to dermatology, Dr. Graf combines minimally invasive office procedures and effective skincare products with fundamental nutrition and lifestyle counseling to elicit both an inner and outer beauty from each of her patients.

Prior to completing her Residency in Dermatology at the New York University Skin and Cancer Unit, Dr. Graf earned her medical degree from the State University of New York - School of Medicine at Buffalo.

Dr. Graf has always had a passion for science from early on in her career. This interest led her to a Research Fellowship at the prestigious National Institutes of Health (NIH) where she worked under the leadership of the renowned scientist, George Martin, PHD.

While at the NIH, Dr.Graf was one of the first doctors to work with peptides, earning a National Institutes of Health patent in 1987. In fact, Dr. Graf was noted for discovering a specific penta-peptide, (YIGSR), responsible for cell attachment, which was proven to inhibit and block melanoma metastases in the lungs of mice. As a result of her scientific research findings, she was awarded a NIH Outstanding Achievement Award.

Now a leader in her field, Dr. Graf continues to research innovative technologies, which include peptides, natural actives, delivery systems, cosmetic chemistry and skin care formulations.

Widely respected for her expertise and objectivity, Dr. Graf is regularly called upon by a number of leading drug and skin care companies to conduct independent clinical studies, forecast on Dermatology and cosmetic trends and approve skin care formulas.

Dr. Graf has been published in several scientific journals, including; Cell, Science, Journal of Cell Biology and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. She also wrote the chapter on “Anti-aging Skin Care Ingredient Technologies”, clarifying how skin care ingredients can affect the skin on a cellular and molecular level for the textbook Cosmetic Dermatology (Springer-Verlag).

A member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Dermatology and Society of Investigative Dermatology, Dr. Graf has a private practice in Great Neck, New York.
